Kosovo’s chief negotiator in the dialogue with Serbia, Besnik Bislimi, stated that at the beginning of the trilateral meeting, the EU Special Representative for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajčak, condemned the terrorist attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal.
Bislimi said that Lajčak expressed the EU’s willingness to help Kosovo in the full investigation of the incident, and added that during their bilateral meeting, other topics were discussed, including the IBM (Integrated Border Management) process and the possibility of opening border points at Izvor and Kapi.
“In the bilateral meeting, we discussed several important issues, including IBM, where we talked about the possibility of reactivating the joint implementation group, so that important topics, such as the opening of border points at Izvor and Kapi, as well as the possibility of seasonal border points at Mohovc, Breznicë, and Dobrosin, can be addressed.”
“Furthermore, we emphasized the necessity of having 24-hour presence of veterinary inspectors at Dheu i Bardhë and the possibility of starting the consolidation of 13 veterinary certificates between Kosovo and Serbia.”
“We also addressed the energy sector, where we highlighted Serbia’s recent violations, particularly the non-activation of interconnection lines, as well as the sabotage that Serbia is carrying out against Brussels agreements, insisting on fictitious footnotes in regional agreements,” said Bislimi, as reported by Klankosova.tv.
Additionally, Bislimi said that with Lajčak, they discussed the issue of official visits, noting that there are concerns within the EU that some visits are being refused without additional explanations.
“We also discussed the issue of official visits, where there are concerns that some visits are being rejected without further clarification, a practice that Serbia has been instilling for a long time,” he said.
