A blockade targeting Iranian ports has officially come into force, following the deadline set by Donald Trump.
From now on, ships of all nations entering or leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas will be subject to a U.S. military blockade.
The United States Central Command stated that vessels traveling between non-Iranian ports will still be allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. military has warned that any ship entering or leaving the blockade zone without authorization will be “subject to interception, diversion, and seizure.”
CENTCOM added that the blockade will be enforced in the Gulf of Oman and the Arabian Sea east of the Strait of Hormuz starting from 16:00.
