The 22-year-old singer Maria De La Rosa was tragically killed in a shooting attack in Los Angeles, which police have described as an “ambush.”
Two other people were seriously injured in the attack that occurred on Saturday, November 22, People reports.
According to a statement from the Los Angeles Police Department, they received an emergency call from the Northridge neighborhood around 1:25 a.m. local time.
Witnesses said that two unidentified men approached a parked car and opened fire, shooting multiple times.
De La Rosa was rushed to the hospital, but doctors were unable to save her. The two other victims remain in critical condition.
Police are intensively searching for the perpetrators, but so far no arrests have been made. The motive for the attack remains unknown, while investigators are collecting security camera footage and questioning witnesses to find evidence that may shed light on the circumstances of the crime.
