Former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has issued a grave warning about the consequences of a potential Ukrainian defeat, emphasizing that it could lead to a greater threat across Europe. Speaking to GB News, Johnson highlighted the possibility of UK military involvement in Ukraine if newly elected U.S. President Donald Trump decides to suspend American support for Kyiv.

“A Ukrainian defeat would bring an even larger threat to our borders, across the European continent where democracies confront Russia,” Johnson warned. He emphasized that supporting Ukraine was “a wise investment to safeguard our collective security.”

Johnson stressed the strategic importance of continued Western backing for Kyiv. He cautioned that if Russia capitalizes on diminished international support, Europe’s security would be significantly undermined. This scenario, he said, could necessitate the deployment of British forces to assist Ukraine’s defense.

The former prime minister also remarked on Trump’s stance toward Ukraine, mentioning the influence of various advisors, including some Republicans “enchanted” by Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, Johnson acknowledged Trump’s prior commitment to supporting Ukraine.
