The British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, has urged political parties to take immediate steps to constitute the Assembly and form the new government.
Hargreaves welcomed the election of the Assembly Speaker, Dimal Basha, who was chosen on Tuesday. However, the full constitution of the Assembly has been stalled due to the election of the Deputy Speaker from the Serbian non-majority community, and the session has been postponed until Thursday.
“The election of the Speaker of the Assembly is a welcome progress and demonstrates that political compromise in the interest of the country is possible when there is political will. I call on political parties in Kosovo to take the next steps as soon as possible to complete the formation of the Assembly and the new government,” Hargreaves wrote on Facebook.
