British Ambassador Jonathan Hargreaves hosted an event in Prishtina yesterday, bringing together British citizens and those holding dual Kosovo–UK citizenship to celebrate Kosovo’s 17 February Independence Day a bit early.
“It was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the deep and enduring ties between the United Kingdom and Kosovo, as well as to recognize citizens whose contributions strengthen both of our countries,” the ambassador said.
“As Kosovo prepares to mark the 18th anniversary of independence next week, we were delighted to celebrate early with friends and partners who embody the spirit of our longstanding friendship. The United Kingdom has stood with Kosovo even before independence, and we remain committed to supporting a stable, democratic, and prosperous Kosovo,” Hargreaves added.
He thanked all attendees for joining “an unforgettable evening of conversation, connection, and shared pride in all that we have achieved together.”
“We hope to organize more events in the future, bringing together the British community in Kosovo.”
For British citizens who were unable to attend this celebration, the ambassador left a message:
“If you are a British citizen in Kosovo and were not included in the list this time, please let us know.”
Among the guests at the event was the Mayor of Prishtina, Përparim Rama.
