On the day of Kosovo’s extraordinary parliamentary elections, British Ambassador Jonathan Hargreaves visited the Central Election Commission (KQZ) to meet with its chairman, Kreshnik Radoniqi, and to acknowledge the professionalism and readiness of the election staff.

Kosovo holds these early elections on Sunday, December 28, following a year-long political deadlock. During his visit, Ambassador Hargreaves commended the dedication of KQZ personnel, advisors, police officers, and prosecutors involved in the election process across the country.

“A significant electoral process is underway! This morning’s visit to the Central Election Commission highlighted the professionalism and preparedness of all staff, advisors, police, and prosecutors working to ensure today runs smoothly. I wish Kosovo another successful demonstration of democracy,” the ambassador wrote on Facebook.

The visit underscores the international attention and support for a transparent and orderly election process, amid efforts to resolve Kosovo’s prolonged political stalemate.
