The British Ambassador to Kosovo, Jonathan Hargreaves, expressed hope for the swift formation of a new government following separate meetings this week with political party leaders in Kosovo.
Hargreaves emphasized that the new government should work in the best interest of the people of Kosovo and make progress on key issues related to the country’s path toward Euro-Atlantic integration.
His full statement read:
“This week, I held separate meetings with political party leaders: Prime Minister Albin Kurti of Vetëvendosje, Memli Krasniqi of the PDK, Lumir Abdixhiku of the LDK, and Ramush Haradinaj of the AAK.”
“I hope that a government will be formed soon that will work in the interest of the people of Kosovo and make progress on vital issues for Kosovo’s path toward Euro-Atlantic integration.”
He also reiterated the United Kingdom’s support for Kosovo’s security and independence and reaffirmed Britain’s confidence in Kosovo’s democratic institutions.
