The British Embassy in Kosovo commemorated the 45 victims of the Reçak massacre, which occurred 27 years ago in Reçak.

The embassy was represented at the memorial ceremony by Deputy Ambassador Paul O’Connor.

“Today we remember the victims of the Reçak massacre of 1999. Our Deputy Ambassador participated in today’s ceremony to honor the 45 innocent lives lost and to express solidarity with the families of the victims and their calls for justice,” the embassy stated.

On January 15, 1999, 45 unarmed and defenseless ethnic Albanian civilians were brutally massacred by Serbian forces in Reçak, Shtime, an atrocity that shocked the international community and later contributed to global awareness of the crimes committed during the Kosovo conflict.
