British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has released a statement on the recent Trump-Putin summit, praising President Donald Trump’s leadership. According to Sky News, Starmer said, “President Trump’s efforts have brought us closer than ever before to ending Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine. His leadership in pursuit of an end to the killing should be congratulated.”
Starmer added that the next step must involve Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, as “the road to peace in Ukraine cannot be decided without him.” He stressed that providing European and U.S. security guarantees to Ukraine would be crucial in “deterring Putin” from further aggression. Starmer also pledged that countries would “continue to tighten the screws on his war machine with even more sanctions” until Russia stops its “barbaric assault.”
