The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK) announced on Monday that the total value of assets seized in the major organized crime case known as “SkyCC” or “Broken Sky” has reached approximately €80 million, marking an unprecedented level of confiscation in Kosovo’s justice system.

The disclosure was made during a meeting between the Special Prosecution and the joint case-targeting task force, which reviewed progress in one of the largest organized crime investigations ever conducted in the country. The case involves 33 arrested suspects.

Unprecedented Asset Seizures

SPRK Chief Prosecutor Blerim Isufaj stated that the seized assets include real estate, cash, and other property, emphasizing that no previous case has reached such a high value of confiscations.

“The total value of confiscations, including immovable property, cash, and other assets, is approximately €80 million. This is a case without precedent in terms of the value of seized property,” Isufaj said.

All Suspects in Detention, Case Treated as Priority

Isufaj confirmed that all suspects identified so far are being held in pretrial detention, underlining that the case is being handled with the highest level of priority by prosecutors.

“This is a sensitive case, and all suspects are currently in custody. It has an exceptionally high priority for us. While we do not prejudge the final outcome, we guarantee that the investigation is being conducted professionally and with the necessary urgency,” he added.

The “Broken Sky” investigation, which stems from encrypted communications linked to international criminal networks, is seen as a landmark effort in Kosovo’s fight against organized crime and illicit financial flows.
