The commander of KFOR’s Western Regional Command (RC-W), Colonel Lorenzo Mangia, presided over the Transfer of Authority ceremony for the Bulgarian contingent at “Villaggio Italia” Camp in Pejë.
According to a KFOR statement, Mangia was accompanied by the Bulgarian Ambassador to Kosovo, Hristo Kraevski.
Outgoing Lieutenant Colonel Biser Saschev Histov handed over responsibility to Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Komitov.
In his speech, RC-W Commander Colonel Mangia expressed his appreciation for the Bulgarian contingent for their significant contribution to KFOR’s efforts to ensure a safe environment for all communities living in Kosovo.
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate – based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a secure environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo and to freedom of movement, at all times and impartially.
KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders,” the KFOR statement read.
