KFOR has announced that Bulgarian soldiers serving within the mission have carried out a five-day training exercise in the Dragash/Dragaš region. According to KFOR, the purpose of this training was to enhance surveillance capabilities through a combination of vehicle and foot patrols.

The mission added that such exercises are essential for maintaining a visible and impartial presence on the ground.

KFOR Statement:

Bulgarian soldiers from the Kinetic Battalion of the Regional Command-West (RC-W) of the NATO-led KFOR mission completed a five-day training exercise in the Dragash/Dragaš area.

The aim of the exercise was to improve surveillance skills through a combination of mounted and dismounted patrols, ensuring that KFOR maintains operational effectiveness in monitoring and controlling the area.

These exercises and patrols are critical to preserving a visible and impartial presence, enhancing situational awareness, and supporting stability across the RC-W area of responsibility.

KFOR continues to fulfill its mandate — based on United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 — to contribute to a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo and to guarantee freedom of movement, at all times and in an impartial manner. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), within their respective security responsibilities.
