Hero of the Kosovo Police, Afrim Bunjaku, was commemorated today by his colleague, Fahri Shala, on the second anniversary of his heroic death during the attack in Banjskë.

Recalling the final moments with Bunjaku, Shala said they have become an immortal testimony to loyalty, bravery, and love for the homeland.

He described the pain of losing his colleague as immense, while the pride in Bunjaku’s sacrifice provides spiritual relief and strength to move forward.

“Today, September 24, 2025, we solemnly and proudly commemorate the second anniversary of the heroic death of Commander Afrim Bunjaku. We worked side by side, inseparable for years, until the final moments of his life. Even today, in my vivid memory, remain the images and final seconds we shared together—moments that have become immortal proof of his loyalty, courage, and love for his homeland. The pain of this loss is immeasurable, but the pride in his sacrifice eases the soul and gives us strength to carry on. With profound humility and respect, we bow to his sublime act, to the determination and courage that led him to give his life for the protection of the sovereignty of our beloved country,” Shala said.

He added that Bunjaku is not only a memory of sorrow but also a symbol of courage, a pillar of honor, and an embodiment of undying love for Kosovo.

According to Shala, the hero will live on in every step of freedom and in every breath of the country he defended with his blood.

Fahri Shala is also a witness in the case of the Banjskë attack.
