Eugen Cakolli from the Democratic Institute of Kosovo (KDI), speaking live on RTV21’s “Click” show, said there is a strong likelihood that Kosovo will head toward extraordinary elections due to the failure to form a new government.
“I don’t want to speculate, but in principle, the chances are higher that we will have an electoral process (extraordinary elections) before any new government is formed in Kosovo, possibly within the coming weeks,” he stated.
Cakolli believes that citizens will once again head to the polls for parliamentary elections either later this year or at the beginning of 2026.
“In the current situation with extreme polarization, diametrically opposing party positions, and especially the lack of willingness from Vetëvendosje (LVV) to form a government that could easily be overthrown, so to speak I believe this is the main reason why citizens will go to the polls again, if not by the end of this year, then certainly at the start of next year,” Cakolli declared.
