Kosovo’s MPs continue to get paid despite not doing any effective work.
The ninth legislature of the Assembly remains unconstituted for over a month and a half.
Eugen Cakolli, a researcher at the Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI), stated that although the Assembly has been blocked for six weeks, MPs don’t seem bothered by the situation.
That’s because they continue to receive their salaries.
“Today they came to the session with an extra €2,600 each in their bank accounts. As compensation for… 24 consecutive failed attempts. So, in total, over €300,000 in salaries from taxpayers – for less than two hours of effective work, and without a single decision being made,” Cakolli wrote on Facebook.
