Canada Reaffirms Support for Kosovo, Ambassador Blitt Congratulates Kurti on New Mandate

Albin Kurti met with Jessica Blitt, the non-resident ambassador of Canada to Kosovo, marking their first meeting during the government’s new mandate.

During the meeting, Ambassador Blitt congratulated Kurti on his renewed term in office and reaffirmed Canada’s continued support for Kosovo. According to the Office of the Prime Minister, Kurti expressed gratitude for the cooperation between the two countries across several sectors.

A key area of collaboration highlighted in the talks was defense cooperation, with members of the Kosovo Security Force currently receiving training at military academies in Canada. Kurti also underlined the government’s priorities, including strategic infrastructure investments and increased defense spending.

The Prime Minister additionally thanked Canada for its support of Kosovo’s participation in the Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada convention, scheduled to take place in Toronto from March 1–4.

Canada, a member of the Group of Seven and NATO, was described during the meeting as a close friend and an important partner of Kosovo, with both sides emphasizing their commitment to deepening bilateral relations in the coming years.
