Canada’s Foreign Minister, Mélanie Joly, has stated that Ukraine requires “strong” security guarantees as part of any agreement to end the war.
She also emphasized that Ukraine must be at the negotiating table, Sky News reports.
Joly stressed the importance of Canada, the U.S., and Europe providing security assurances for Ukraine.
“We would not want to be in a situation where there is essentially a ceasefire, an unstable peace, and Russian forces withdraw from Ukrainian territory only to reorganize and reinvade Ukraine,” she added.
