Remittances to Kosovo in 2025 reached a total of €1.42 billion, marking an increase of 4.4%, or around €60 million more compared to 2024. Data for December remain preliminary and are expected to be finalized by the end of February.
According to the Central Bank of Kosovo (CBK), the largest share of remittances came from Germany, accounting for around 39% of the total.
Germany is followed by Switzerland (17.5%), the United States (7.2%), Austria (4.2%), Italy (3.9%), while Belgium and France each contributed 3.4%.
Regarding transfer methods, about 55% of remittances were sent through money transfer agencies, 17% through banks, and 28% via other channels. This structure has remained almost unchanged compared to the previous year.
The average monthly inflow of remittances stood at approximately €117.9 million, with the highest inflows recorded in July, August, and December, mainly due to the arrival of diaspora members in Kosovo during the summer season and year-end holidays.
