The spokesperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Valmir Elezi, has clarified how work and the vote-counting process will be organized during the holiday period.
Elezi announced that, taking into account the festive season as well as the need to avoid prolonged interruptions in the counting process, work on December 31 will continue until 12:00. Meanwhile, work at the Municipal Counting Centers will resume on January 1, starting at 16:00.
He also explained the legal procedures related to vote counting, reports IndeksOnline.
According to the Law on General Elections, in elections for the Assembly of Kosovo, the counting of votes for political entities is conducted at polling stations, while the results are recorded on special forms and published by the CEC as preliminary results.
Furthermore, Elezi emphasized that the counting of votes for candidates for deputies of the Assembly of Kosovo is carried out at the Municipal Counting Centers.
Before this process begins, in accordance with the CEC’s Election Regulation for Municipal Counting Centers, verification of the results of political entities is conducted based on the forms completed at polling stations after the conclusion of ballot counting.
