The Central Election Commission (CEC) has confirmed the completion of ballot printing for the October 12, 2025 local elections in Kosovo. The ballots are expected to arrive in the country today.
Ballot Printing in Slovenia
The printing took place at the high-security printing house “Cetis” in Celje, Slovenia, under the supervision of CEC members and the Secretariat staff. Alongside ballots, candidate brochures have also been prepared and will be distributed on election day.
Number of Ballots Printed
For the first round of elections, the CEC printed 3,600,820 ballots — divided equally between mayoral and municipal assembly elections. This number includes:
- Regular voting at polling stations
- Conditional voting
- Voting for persons with special needs
- Postal voting
- Reserve ballots
The CEC highlighted that the total number of ballots is 13% lower than the number of eligible voters (2,069,098), representing a reduction of 268,688 ballots.
Voter Registration
According to the certified voters’ list:
- 2,025,105 citizens will vote inside Kosovo
- 43,993 voters are registered to vote from abroad via mail
Polling Centers and Stations
On election day, voting will take place at 948 polling centers with 2,625 polling stations. Out of these:
- 910 centers with 2,571 stations are for regular voting
- 38 centers with 54 stations are for conditional voting
The process marks a key milestone ahead of the Kosovo Local Elections 2025, ensuring preparations are on track for October 12.
