The Central Election Commission (CEC) began today’s session with debates initiated by the Serb List regarding items on the agenda.

Gordana Llaban, a CEC member representing the Serb List, complained about receiving the meeting materials late, requesting either a postponement of the session or that it be held without her presence.

“Five minutes before the meeting, you gave me the table. That’s why I didn’t attend. I don’t want to have conflicts with anyone,” she stated.

Sami Hamiti, a CEC member representing LDK, rejected Llaban’s claims, emphasizing that the work of the CEC is transparent.

“Calm down, there’s no need to get nervous… (I’m not getting nervous – Llaban). We have no doubts about this work; everything is done according to the Election Law… You simply didn’t want to participate,” Hamiti said.

The debate also involved Alban Krasniqi from Lëvizja Vetëvendosje, who argued that the issue stems from the Constitutional Court’s recent decision imposing a temporary measure against the constitution of the Kosovo Assembly.

“The Constitutional Court intervenes and suspends an entire parliament temporarily. These are the consequences we are experiencing. You mentioned the word ‘conflict’… Even in the February meeting you referred to, you represent a subject involved in terrorist activities… Both then and now, you continue to represent this entity to undermine all other Serbian community groups… The only reason a higher number is being requested for you (Serb List) is to continue the terror inflicted on your own community,” Krasniqi stated.

It should be recalled that on August 21, Lëvizja Vetëvendosje members voted against certifying the Serb List for the October 12 local elections.

LVV members Sami Kurteshi and Alban Krasniqi vocally opposed the Serb List’s certification, arguing that it includes individuals linked to parallel Serbian structures and labeling the party as an extension of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić’s influence in Kosovo.

Meanwhile, the Panel for the Resolution of Appeals in the Election Process (PZAP) overturned the CEC’s decision, allowing the Serb List to participate in the October 12 elections.
