The spokesperson of the Central Election Commission (CEC), Valmir Elezi, has confirmed that the CEC will hold its next meeting today, with the certification of several election results listed on the agenda.

According to Elezi, the CEC will proceed with the certification of the October 12 municipal assembly election results, specifically for the municipalities where the Election Complaints and Appeals Panel (ECAP) and the Supreme Court have already concluded the review of complaints.

“In Friday’s meeting, the CEC will review and is expected to vote on the certification of the Municipal Assembly results, for those municipalities where all complaint procedures have been finalized,” Elezi stated.

He further noted that the agenda also includes the certification of the second-round mayoral elections held in 18 municipalities on November 9.

“Additionally, the CEC will proceed with the announcement of the second-round results held on November 9, for the 18 municipalities where mayoral runoffs took place,” Elezi added.

In the first round, 20 municipalities completed the election process, while 18 others proceeded to the runoff on November 9.
