The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced that approximately 78% of polling stations have been counted for candidate votes in the February 9 parliamentary elections.

CEC spokesperson Valmir Elezi confirmed that the process has covered 1,970 out of a total of 2,533 polling stations, while the counting and verification of votes from the diaspora is still ongoing.

“The CEC is working to publish the results for MP candidates before the final election results are officially announced,” Elezi stated.

Additionally, the CEC emphasized that the process is being conducted in a transparent and orderly manner, with some polling stations still left to be counted. Beyond the local counting centers, the verification of postal votes remains a crucial aspect of the election process, being handled with increased attention.

The CEC is expected to release another update in the coming days to finalize the full election results.
