The Central Election Commission (CEC) of Kosovo has announced that the period for verifying and changing the Voting Center within a municipality remains open for the upcoming Local Elections for Mayors and Municipal Assemblies.
This process, which began on June 28, will continue until August 29, 2025, according to an official press release.
As of Thursday, August 7 at 09:00, the CEC reported receiving 1,748 applications for mail-in voting registration through its online platform https://qv.kqz-ks.org. Out of these, 1,581 applications have been approved, while 167 were rejected, mostly due to applicants failing to upload a photo of themselves holding a valid identification document.
The CEC clarified that changing one’s Voting Center within the same municipality is entirely voluntary, meant to help voters assign a center closer to their residence.
During this period, eligible voters can:
- Verify or learn about their current Voting Center
- Request a change of Voting Center within their municipality
This can be done via:
- The CEC online platform: https://qv.kqz-ks.org, or
- By submitting a request to the Municipal Election Commission where the voter is registered.
However, changing the Voting Center between different municipalities is not directly handled by the CEC. It requires an official address change, which must be submitted to the Civil Registry Office or through the E-Kosova platform. Once the address change is confirmed by the Civil Status Service, it is updated in the Central Civil Registry, and the Voting Center will be reassigned accordingly.
