Tonight, the Central Police Station building was illuminated as part of the campaign “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.”

The building was lit up in orange, a color symbolizing hope for the victims of violence.

Also present was the Minister of Internal Affairs, Xhelal Sveçla.

“Tonight, we turned on the lights as a symbol of solidarity and support for the victims of domestic violence, violence against women. The police are the first point of contact for this violence, where victims also receive help. This phenomenon is very dangerous in our country,” said Sveçla to the media.

Meanwhile, the Director of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, appealed to citizens to report violence to law enforcement authorities.
