KFOR Commander, Major General Özkan Ulutaş, presided over the transfer of authority ceremony for the KFOR Reserve Tactical Battalion, attended by the Hungarian Ambassador to Kosovo, László István Dux.
The ceremony took place at the Novo Selo Camp, reports IndeksOnline. During the event, Lieutenant Colonel Gergely Herczog handed over command to Lieutenant Colonel Botond Hetényi, marking the completion of his assignment.
“In his speech, General Ulutaş expressed gratitude to Lieutenant Colonel Herczog, emphasizing his professionalism and the respect he earned from his soldiers and the local communities within his area of responsibility,” the KFOR statement reads.
General Ulutaş also welcomed Lieutenant Colonel Hetényi, reaffirming KFOR’s sustained commitment to maintaining a secure environment for all residents of Kosovo.
“KFOR continues to implement its mandate—based on UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999—to contribute to a safe environment for all people living in Kosovo and to uphold freedom of movement, at all times and impartially. KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), in their respective roles as security responders,” KFOR stated.
