Thousands of Palestinians surged at a humanitarian aid distribution point set up by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a group supported by the US and Israel.

This chaotic scene unfolded just one day after military operations began in the southern city of Rafah. Desperate crowds broke through fences, scrambling to obtain food aid.

The GHF, which employs armed American contractors for security, aims to bypass the traditional UN aid distribution system, drawing strong criticism from the United Nations and international aid organizations.

The Israeli military confirmed that troops fired “warning shots” to control the situation, while local witnesses reported the aid distribution quickly descended into chaotic clashes, with people fighting over food.

GHF claims to have distributed over 460,000 meals through partnerships with local NGOs, with the goal of feeding 1 million people within a week. However, international organizations have accused the group of politicizing aid and endangering civilian safety.
