PRISHTINA, October 8, 2025 — The 3rd edition of the Children’s Book Festival and Fair officially opened on Wednesday at Zahir Pajaziti Square in Prishtina. The event was inaugurated by President Vjosa Osmani, who emphasized the power of reading to shape the future of children.

The more you read, the more you know; the more you read, the more places you will go,” said Osmani in front of a large audience of students. “Here at this festival, you will meet some of your best friends — from Harry Potter, who invites you into a world of magic, to Alice in Wonderland. The magic comes with reading children’s books.

Osmani encouraged children to make reading a daily habit, calling it a key to imagination and knowledge.

Naime Beqiraj, Director of the Hivzi Sulejmani Library in Prishtina, also addressed the event, urging children to keep reading as a path to success. She announced that on October 9, 2025, the library will offer free memberships to all interested students (Grades I–IX).

“I hope this great celebration of books and colors continues endlessly,” Beqiraj said.

Agon Ahmeti, Director of the NGO ETEA, and Fatlum Hetemi from Albas Publishing House also gave remarks during the opening ceremony.

Following the official opening, various interactive activities for children were organized, including creative workshops, open readings, book promotions, and educational games.

The festival will continue until October 11, 2025, featuring a wide range of children’s books from different publishers. It is jointly organized by ETEA and the Hivzi Sulejmani Library in Prishtina.
