China has been rocked by another powerful earthquake this Wednesday.

The earthquake, with a magnitude of 5.5, had its epicenter in the Qinghai province, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).

Just yesterday, Tibet was struck by a powerful earthquake, resulting in the loss of 126 lives and 188 others injured. The aftermath has been catastrophic, with many homes destroyed and thousands of people forced to relocate.

Meanwhile, rescue teams are searching for those trapped under the rubble.

Earthquakes are common along the edges of the seismically active Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, including Madoi.

Around 102 earthquakes with a magnitude of 3 or higher have been recorded within 200 kilometers of Wednesday’s earthquake over the last five years, according to CENC, with the largest reaching a magnitude of 7.4 in 2021.
