Today, many Serbian citizens gathered in front of a building previously used by the parallel Serbian municipality in North Mitrovica.
The protesters, who had also demonstrated on Monday, included employees of the administrative body of the parallel Serbian municipality in the area.
This protest comes shortly after Kosovan authorities shut down five Serbian parallel institutions in northern Kosovo, including the parallel municipality in Mitrovica. The authorities claimed these institutions were operating under Serbian direction, thus “undermining the constitution and laws of the Republic of Kosovo.”
