Former U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a sharp response following the violent attack that occurred yesterday in Boulder, Colorado, calling it a “horrific act of terrorism” that “will not be tolerated in the United States of America”, Rks News reports.
In his statement, Trump linked the attack to the immigration policies of President Joe Biden, labeling them “reckless and dangerous” for national security.
“The ridiculous open-border policies have caused tremendous harm to our country,” Trump said, asserting that the suspect entered the U.S. due to these immigration measures.
He further emphasized that terrorist acts will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and used the incident as a platform to renew calls for:
Stricter border controls
Deportation of radical, anti-American individuals
The attack in Boulder is being investigated as a “suspected act of terrorism.” According to authorities, the alleged perpetrator, Mohamed Sabry Soliman, injured eight people while shouting “Free Palestine”, and allegedly set fire to the building.
