The local election runoff also included the municipality of Gjakova. Mayor Gjini, who has led Gjakova for the past two terms, has once again won the trust of the citizens.
Gjini from AAK defeated Ardian Gola of LVV in the second round of local elections held on November 9.
In addition to winning regular votes, Gjini also received the majority of conditional votes on election day, as well as votes from persons with special needs.
According to results published by the Central Election Commission (CEC), the current mayor of Gjakova received 32 conditional votes (58.18%) compared to Gola’s 23 votes (41.82%).
In the category of votes from persons with special needs, Gjini received 52 votes (66.67%), while Gola received 33 votes (33.33%).
Based on the overall results so far, without including postal votes, Gjini has secured 17,231 votes (56.46%) compared to 13,287 votes (43.54%) for Gola.
