Kosovo and Germany celebrated the 25th anniversary of their development cooperation with various activities in the capital. Representatives from both countries spoke about the assistance that Germany has provided to Kosovo over the years and its benefits.
German Deputy Ambassador Matthias Conrad stated that Kosovo is a success story.
“This partnership is a testament to our enduring friendship and our commitment to a brighter future. Over the past 25 years, Kosovo has taken significant steps toward economic and social development, and it is a narrative of success. Germany has invested nearly 1 billion euros since 1999 when Kosovo was liberated, in support of the development of this country,” said Conrad.
He emphasized that Germany’s commitment to Kosovo is unwavering, stating they will stand by Kosovo not just as partners and allies, but as true friends.
Meanwhile, Minister of Industry, Entrepreneurship, and Trade, Rozeta Hajdari, noted that Germany is Kosovo’s main trading partner.
“Germany is also the principal partner for investments as well as for the security of Kosovo, being home to the largest KFOR contingent for the security of our country. In 2008, after the declaration of independence of the Republic of Kosovo, Germany was one of the most fair and just donors at the conference following our independence, offering commitments for new cooperation with our country, which was a surprise for us,” she said.
In celebration of this anniversary, among various activities, the design of the ‘Buddy Bear’ was presented as a symbol of friendship between the two nations.
