Several days after the Constitutional Court’s announcement on the case of the Assembly Speaker, the temporary measure suspending plenary sessions of the Kosovo Assembly remains in force.

The Court stated that the ruling will be published once all procedures outlined in the Law on the Constitutional Court have been completed.

“The Court’s judgment in cases KO193/25 and KO196/25 will be published after all procedures foreseen by the Law on the Constitutional Court and the Court’s Rules of Procedure regarding the publication of decisions are completed. Once the text is finalized, the judgment will be sent to all parties involved in the case, published on the Court’s website, and sent for publication in the Official Gazette,” Veton Dula from the Constitutional Court told IndeksOnline.

Political party officials have said they will respect the Court’s decision, which, in last Friday’s announcement, clarified that the election of the Assembly Speaker must be conducted through an open vote.

According to the statement, a candidate may be proposed up to three times for voting.

The decision also obliges all MPs to participate in the voting process.

Vetëvendosje will have 30 days from the entry into force of the ruling to elect the new Assembly Speaker.
