The Constitutional Court of Albania has ruled in favor of Erion Veliaj, allowing him to continue his duties as Mayor of Tirana.
According to Top Channel, the court’s decision was passed with a 5-3 majority, overturning the government’s earlier move to dismiss Veliaj, which had been proposed by the Tirana City Council.
As a result of this ruling, the presidential decree by Bajram Begaj setting a date for new elections in Tirana has also been annulled.
