The decision of the Constitutional Court has officially taken effect, prohibiting all Kosovo Assembly deputies from taking any action related to the constitution of the legislature. This ruling follows 54 failed attempts to elect a new Assembly speaker.
Political Deadlock Persists
Efforts to reach an agreement have been unsuccessful. Vetëvendosje had insisted on two main points: a secret ballot and the candidacy of Albulena Haxhiu for Assembly Speaker. However, these proposals failed to secure sufficient support from other parliamentary parties.
The latest attempt to form the Assembly also failed yesterday. The political situation remains unclear, as the constitutional deadline for the Assembly’s constitution is August 8.
