The concreting phase has begun for two new bridges being constructed over the Ibar River in North Mitrovica.
Acting Deputy Minister of Infrastructure, Hysen Durmishi, announced the news via a Facebook post, providing an update on the progress and highlighting the project’s significance in connecting the two parts of the city.
“We started with the concreting of the piles. In autumn, two more bridges over the Ibar,” Durmishi wrote.
Project Details and Importance
Just days ago, the foundation stones for these new bridges were laid. The construction is part of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning, and Infrastructure and the municipalities of South and North Mitrovica. These bridges are expected to significantly improve connectivity and facilitate movement between the two divided parts of the city.
