European Council President António Costa has expressed deep concern over developments in the Middle East following the recent American attacks on Iran.
In a post on X, Costa called on all parties for restraint and to respect international law and nuclear security. He emphasized that “diplomacy remains the only way to bring peace and security to the region,” warning that “many civilians will be victims of further escalation.”
Costa also pledged that the EU will continue to work with parties and partners to find a peaceful solution at the negotiating table.
