Counting of Mail-In Votes Begins in Kosovo Local Elections

The Counting and Results Center has started processing mail-in ballots for the local elections in Kosovo, submitted during September 17 – October 11, 2025.

According to the Central Election Commission (CEC), approximately 30,000 ballot packages have been approved, while nearly 4,000 were rejected.

The main reasons for rejection include lack of voter registration proof or other required documents containing unique voter information that must be submitted to the CEC.

Additionally, the CEC announced that the verification of votes for 30 municipalities has been completed:

  • Monday: Hani i Elezit
  • Tuesday: Junik, Mamushë, Zveçan, Raillug, Partesh
  • Wednesday: Mitrovicë e Veriut, Zubin Potok, Deçan, Shtime, Klinë, Shtërpcë, Obiliq, Istog, Skenderaj
  • Thursday: Viti, Rahovec, Suharekë, Dragash, Kaçanik, Lipjan, Fushë Kosovë, Ferizaj, Kamenicë, Drenas, Vushtrri
  • Friday: Gjakovë, Graçanicë, Mitrovicë e Jugut, Podujevë
