The Central Election Commission (CEC) has announced that the counting process of ballots cast outside Kosovo—specifically voting conducted at diplomatic missions—has been completed.
The voting took place in 29 diplomatic missions across 18 different countries. Out of 19,187 registered citizens, 16,165 voted, representing a turnout of 84.24%.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, the CEC Vote Counting and Results Center (VCRC) began counting ballots cast by mail that have so far arrived in Kosovo.
A few days earlier, from the CEC’s two postal mailboxes abroad—Berlin and Bern—more than 28,500 ballot packages were collected. These were evaluated and verified by the CEC’s voter service, according to the official announcement.
Out of more than 28,000 received packages, 27,600 were approved following evaluation and verification, while over 950 were rejected. The main reason for rejection was the absence of the voter registration certificate in the ballot package.
The counting process will include 27,600 envelopes presumed to contain valid ballots, the CEC announced.
