The trial session for the “Banjska Case” continues today, Tuesday, at 9:00 a.m. in the Basic Court of Prishtina, under the Department for Serious Crimes.

The defendants — Blagoje Spasojević, Vladimir Tolić, and Dušan Maksimović — face serious criminal charges related to the armed attack in Banjska village, in the municipality of Zveçan, on September 24, 2023.

Background of the Case

The incident in Banjska involved an armed assault on the Kosovo Police, which resulted in the death of Sergeant Afrim Bunjaku and the injury of several other police officers. The attack is considered one of the most severe security incidents in northern Kosovo in recent years and has drawn strong condemnation from both local and international authorities.

Ongoing Testimonies

During Monday’s hearing, the court heard testimony from an anonymous witness, identified as “A2”.
For security reasons, the witness’s statement was delivered without public attendance.

The trial continues as the court reviews evidence and testimonies related to the organization, execution, and motive behind the Banjska attack.

Next Steps

The proceedings are expected to continue in the coming days, with further witness testimonies and cross-examinations planned before the panel of judges reaches a decision. The case remains under high public and political scrutiny, given its implications for Kosovo’s rule of law and regional stability.
