Prishtina, July 21, 2025 – The Workers’ Union of Radio Television of Kosovo (RTK) has announced a press conference for Tuesday, July 22 at 11:00, to be held in the main hall of RTK-1. During the conference, the union will officially announce the date of a protest it plans to organize in response to the institution’s ongoing financial crisis.

RTK currently faces serious operational risks, including the inability to pay employees, due to the lack of an approved budget. The crisis has intensified after the caretaker Prime Minister stated there was no possibility of allocating funds in the absence of an active Assembly.

“Since there is no functioning Parliament, there is no way to allocate funds,” the Prime Minister said, offering no concrete solution for RTK’s situation.

The union emphasizes that the protest is aimed at defending workers’ rights, ensuring compliance with the law, and demanding improved working conditions and institutional responsibility for public broadcasting.

In a formal invitation addressed to the media, union head Gëzim Bimbashi stated:

“Your participation and coverage will help amplify the voices of the workers and ensure that the public is properly informed about the reasons and goals of this protest.”
