A contingent of Croatian soldiers was sent to support KFOR troops in Kosovo on Tuesday, the Croatian Ministry of Defense announced.

“Your tasks in KFOR are challenging and involve much more than a military approach. I believe you will know how to find the right way to overcome challenges while always, in every situation, being ambassadors of Croatia in many ways,” said Major General Drago Matanović.

In the KFOR operational area, the 43rd Croatian contingent will consist of 154 members, nine of whom are women, reported Index.hr.

The Croatian Armed Forces have been part of the KFOR mission since 2009, based on the Croatian Parliament’s decision in July 2008. So far, 2,240 members of the Armed Forces have participated – including 125 women.
