Croatian investigative journalist Domagoj Margetić has published a new video on social media containing highly disturbing footage from the siege of Sarajevo, accompanied by serious allegations against Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić related to events in the 1990s.

According to Margetić, the video includes imagery from the period when civilians were targeted by sniper fire during the siege. He claims that Vučić was present in Sarajevo at the time and was allegedly part of a military unit involved in maintaining the siege.

In a public statement, Margetić alleged that Vučić belonged to a unit commanded by Slavko Aleksić, which he claims operated from sniper positions used to target civilians.

“The video includes the image of a child killed in Sarajevo at a time when Aleksandar Vučić and the unit he belonged to were positioned at sniper locations,” Margetić wrote.

The journalist further claimed that, from a criminal-law perspective, Vučić was present at the time and place of the crimes, arguing that this could imply direct or joint responsibility.

Margetić also stated that these allegations are based on statements and accounts from the 1990s and early 2000s, including claims allegedly made by Vučić himself or by individuals close to him during that period.

Alongside his written accusations, Margetić shared a video he says documents the consequences of sniper attacks on civilians during the Sarajevo siege, using it to illustrate his claims against the Serbian president.

The allegations have once again reignited controversy surrounding Vučić’s wartime past, an issue that has repeatedly drawn scrutiny and criticism across the region, particularly in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia.
