The County Court in Split has ordered one month of pre-trial detention for a Croatian pilot and his Serbian partner from Kosovo, who are under investigation for espionage.
The court ruled that detention was necessary due to the risk of witness tampering, destruction of evidence, and, in the case of the Serbian suspect, the risk of flight, as she is considered a foreign national in Croatia, local media Index reported.
Allegations of Espionage
According to investigators, the Croatian pilot allegedly passed on sensitive information about KFOR troop movements to his partner while serving in Kosovo. She is suspected of then transmitting this intelligence to Srpska Lista (Serb List).
- The information reportedly included troop movements in northern Kosovo, dating back to late 2022 until 2025.
- Investigators believe details regarding Zubin Potok, one of the most tense municipalities in northern Kosovo, were also compromised.

The couple is further suspected of sharing intelligence regarding the transport of Dejan Pantić, a former Kosovo police officer accused of participating in attacks on Central Election Commission offices in North Mitrovica.
International Investigation
Both suspects were interrogated on Wednesday. The case is now being investigated jointly by the Croatian police and Europol, as authorities assess the extent of leaked military and political information.
