Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković has requested detailed updates from the country’s security institutions regarding the arrest of a Croatian military pilot and his Kosovar Serb partner, both suspected of espionage activities in Kosovo.

According to preliminary reports, the pilot allegedly shared classified information collected during his stay in Kosovo with his partner. She is suspected of subsequently passing the data to leaders of Srpska Lista, the Serb political party in Kosovo closely aligned with the Serbian government and President Aleksandar Vučić.

“I met with the Director of the Military Security and Intelligence Agency (VSOA), Major General Ivan Turkalj, regarding the ongoing investigation against an officer of the Croatian Armed Forces and another individual suspected of committing espionage,” Plenković stated on social media.

He further emphasized that the VSOA, the Office of the State Prosecutor of Croatia, and other competent institutions are undertaking all necessary measures to protect state interests and national security.

The case has raised serious security concerns in Zagreb, highlighting the sensitive geopolitical landscape in the Western Balkans and the growing pressure on regional governments to safeguard intelligence and defense structures.
