Kosovo has faced a new wave of cyberattacks in recent days, which authorities attribute to Serbia and Russia. These attacks targeted official websites of state institutions and various organizations, temporarily disabling them.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Donika Gërvalla-Schwarz, stated that Russia is carrying out a hybrid attack against Kosovo as a response to Prishtina’s announcement of military support for Ukraine. Prime Minister Albin Kurti also confirmed that cyberattacks, seemingly originating at least partly from the Russian Federation, are aiming to destabilize security institutions and disrupt their operations.

Cybersecurity experts are warning that these attacks may continue and escalate further, posing significant threats to Kosovo’s government and financial systems. They recommend strengthening protective measures and investing in the education and preparation of specialized cybersecurity personnel to better counter ongoing threats.
