The Presidency of the Republic of Kosovo has issued its first reaction regarding today’s developments in the Assembly.

The Presidency stated that President Vjosa Osmani welcomed the process of constituting the Assembly and the beginning of its unblocking, reports IndeksOnline.

“The President welcomes the fact that the process of constituting the Assembly has begun to be unblocked and hopes that this process will be completed as soon as possible, in accordance with the Constitution. She wishes the best in the interest of the country to the newly elected Speaker Dimal Basha and the elected Deputy Speakers of the Assembly, Ms. Albulena Haxhiu, Ms. Vlora Çitaku, Mr. Kujtim Shala, and Ms. Emilija Redžepi.

The President hopes that, as soon as possible and in accordance with constitutional procedures, the Assembly will also vote on the new Government resulting from the will of the citizens expressed in the February 9 elections,” the statement reads.

It is recalled that Dimal Basha was elected today as Speaker of the Assembly in his second attempt for this position.

The next session will be held on Thursday, during which the appointment of the remaining Deputy Speakers of the Assembly will continue.
