The Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade has introduced a new mechanism for setting daily maximum fuel prices, which came into effect on April 5, 2026.
According to the decision, the maximum price for diesel is set at €1.86 per liter, while gasoline is capped at €1.49 per liter, with increased monitoring by relevant authorities to ensure implementation.
The ministry called on all economic operators to strictly comply with the new rules, aiming to ensure a functional, stable market that serves consumer interests.
“These measures are not intended to harm or sanction any business entity. They are designed to ensure market fairness, protect consumers, and reflect increased caution during a sensitive period of fluctuations and uncertainties in global fuel markets,” the statement said.
